What We Stand Against
Globalisation flattens the world, erasing the unique threads of our history and displacing our people. This initiative actively resists the corporate extraction of the Black diaspora by confronting these critical issues:
-
Global & Local Gentrification: Fighting the predatory displacement of historic Black neighborhoods in Western cities, as well as the foreign corporate buyout of land, coastlines, and resources in sovereign Black nations.
-
Displacement of Cultural Businesses: Resisting the economic squeezing of local, independent Black-owned shops and venues by skyrocketing rents and multinational chains.
-
Cultural Exploitation & Appropriation: Rejecting the commercial commodification of sacred traditions, styles, and arts by outside entities for profit.
-
Erasure of Endangered Culture: Actively documenting and preserving local dialects, oral histories, and regional traditions before they are systematically wiped out by global trends.
-
Economic Wealth Extraction: Stopping global corporations from profiting off Black talent and labor while leaving local communities underfunded.
-
Loss of Intellectual Property: Defending the ownership rights of traditional knowledge, music, craftsmanship, and community-born innovations from piracy.
